Jill Szymanski has spent the past twenty years in corporate and franchise real estate working for large international retail companies and emerging concepts that include Burger King, Haagen Dazs, Applebee’s, Bar Louie and TITLE Boxing Club. In between that time she also owned a retail flower shop and restaurant. As a Corporate and Franchise Real Estate Professional for these companies she gained diverse experience in deal negotiation, construction, market planning, and asset management. Her extensive experience in asset management enables taking a “cradle to grave” approach to real estate development.
Now as President of SZY Consulting, she helps business owners find solutions for their retail real estate and construction from single new and existing unit development to market planning and multiple location development. Her strengths include extensive deal negotiation, process implementation and analytical modeling for strategic planning. She has sold or negotiated over 800 real estate transactions for corporations and franchisees and has generated savings of nearly $40 million dollars.
Recent clients include Dessange Group North America with the US rollout of Dessange Salons and Spas and Camille albane Salons. With their Fantastic Sams Salons chain, she created a new system for salon development, assisted franchisees in their site selection and lease negotiation and updated their current analytical model. For Smiling Moose Deli she consults and sets up their franchise development programs.
Recently Jill co-authored a book with 17 other Retail Real Estate Professionals entitled, Winning Ways in Commercial Real Estate which made the #1 Seller in Real Estate its first launch week. Her most recent Article on LinkedIn, “THE DIRTY DOZEN”: A dozen site selection mistakes franchisees make.” can also be applied to an individual business owner. A bit of a vagabond, Jill currently resides in Dallas, Texas with her two children, one rescued hyper-active Miniature Pinscher and her loyal sidekick a Corgi mix. In her spare time, she enjoys watching her son and daughter’s lacrosse games, volunteering with animal rescue and scuba diving when she can get away.
